Dependence of Thermoformed Mouthguard Thickness on Model Height in Single-Layer and Laminated Mouthguards

The height of the working model affects mouthguard thickness. aim this study was to clarify difference in effect on thickness between single- and double-layered mouthguards. Mouthguards were thermoformed using ethylene-vinyl-acetate sheets a pressure molding machine. Working models three hard gypsum with anterior part trimmed 25 mm (model A), 30 B), 35 C). Three conditions compared: single-layered 4.0-mm thick-sheet (S4); 3.0-mm-thick sheet first-layer 2.0-mm-thick second-layer (L32); first- second-layers (L33). Analysis performed by two-way ANOVA simple main test for differences depending condition. Under all conditions, labial buccal thicknesses tended become thinner as increased, B C about 6% - 7% 14% 16% than A, respectively. cusp not affected L32 L33, but S4, or more A.
